2016: the year ahead
While the successful passing of the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) last year was an early Christmas wish come true, we certainly have a lot on our plates for 2016. Being an election year, we’ll be spending quite a bit of time in Canberra, with our first meetings for the year already having taken place on the first Parliamentary sitting day. We’ll also be working on ensuring the MRFF continues to build, the ongoing issue of indirect cost funding, contributing to the NHMRC Programme Review (see below), ensuring medical research is a key part of the National Innovation and Science Agenda, and influencing tax reform that affects medical research institutes.
AAMRI President Doug Hilton has a short video update on all of this for you.
