AAMRI Member Survey and Report

AAMRI Member Survey and Report

Snapshot of Australia’s Medical Research Institutes (MRIs)

As the peak body for medical research institutes (MRIs) across Australia, AAMRI captures a snapshot of its member MRIs through a biennial survey. Since 2013, AAMRI has collected data from its member medical research institutes (MRIs) on their workforce, revenue & expenditure, success in competitive grant schemes (e.g. NHMRC) and research outputs and translation activities.

Most recently, the 2016 AAMRI Member Report was launched at the AAMRI Annual Convention in November 2016 and summarises the key findings from the 2015 survey.

For information about AAMRI’s member institutes, please see our member page.

AAMRI Member Survey

The survey has been conducted every two years but will move to an annual collection cycle in 2018. The most recent survey was in late 2015 (2014 data), and the 2016 AAMRI Member Report was released in December, 2016. The 2017 data collection period is now open (2016 data).

The data collection comprises the survey data as well as drawing on data from other sources such as the National Survey of Research Commercialisation (NSRC), Department of Education and the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
