Translational Research Institute

The Translational Research Institute (TRI) is one of Australia’s youngest medical research institutes. It was launched in 2013 to fast-track the translation of research through to patient care by providing an interface between science, medicine and industry.

Based on the Princess Alexandra Hospital campus in Brisbane, TRI is home to nearly 1000 researchers from Queensland Health, The University of Queensland, the Queensland University of Technology and Mater Research as well as eight early-stage companies. TRI has extensive core facilities onsite, a clinical trial facility within the PA Hospital in Metro South Health; a children’s clinical trial facility on the Queensland Children’s Hospital campus; and leases a large-scale bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing facility to Patheon by Thermo Fisher Scientific.
