AAMRI feedback on NHMRC draft guides for Collaboration and draft guide for Conflict of Interest

Draft guide on managing collaborations

AAMRI provided feedback to the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on a draft guide for managing collaborations. The guide is intended to support the 2018 Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research

AAMRI’s submission supports the development of a Collaborative Research guide to help assist researchers and institutions in meeting their responsibilities with respect to the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research. Within the Guide there are a number of welcome initiatives that will help researchers understand the importance of formalising arrangements for collaborative research projects. However, the Guide should be modified to be less prescriptive so that it does not inadvertently impinge on early-stage or international collaborations.

Draft guide on managing conflict of interest

AAMRI welcomes the release of this Guide and has put forward some relatively minor suggestions on how it might be further improved.
