Farewell and good luck, Nicole

Farewell and good luck, Nicole

14th July, 2016

Nicole_squareLast week we farewelled Dr Nicole den Elzen, AAMRI’s longest serving Director of Policy and Operations, as she moves on to the next stage of her career with AAMRI member Baker IDI Heart & Diabetes Institute.

Nicole lived and breathed AAMRI while she worked with us. She showed immense commitment to the health and medical research sector, working incredibly long hours, and the policy and funding landscape for our sector is better for her efforts.

Of particular note during her tenure at AAMRI was the successful passing of the legislation for the Medical Research Future Fund, the campaign for which was led by AAMRI in providing the secretariat and communications management.

Baker IDI has made a wise recruiting choice in Nicole and we wish her the very best as she commences her new role. We’re glad Nicole has remained with the sector and look forward to working with her as part of the AAMRI membership.

Our deepest gratitude goes to Nicole for her strong work ethic, her insight and her dedication.

We now welcome Dr Peter Thomas into the role of Director of Strategy and Operations at AAMRI, and look forward to AAMRI continuing to provide an effective and united voice for the health and medical research sector for many more years to come.
