Yulgilbar Alzheimer’s Research Program – Excellence Awards 2017

1st August, 2016

The Yulgilbar Foundation was established in 1999 as a philanthropic foundation. Since becoming  personally affected by Alzheimer’s disease the Founders commenced a special program of research grants, named the Yulgilbar Alzheimer’s Research Program. The mission is to assist in discoveries that will prevent, delay the onset, slow down the progress and ultimately, cure Alzheimer’s disease.  A Scientific Advisory Group has been formed comprising the eminent scientists listed above and Directed By Professor Bob Williamson AO FRS

One program initiative is to seek out and support bright young researchers who will bring new ideas to the field, and who may not yet have published enough to attract support from larger funding bodies. The following awards will be made in 2017 to five such researchers selected by the Scientific Advisory Group:

  • five post-doctoral scholarships as a one-off $30,000 award top-up to their existing research funds, based on a proposal for collaboration, or for an exciting initiative, or to present work internationally.

If you have questions on the program please call YARP Scientific Director, Professor Bob Williamson, 03 8344 4181 or Secretary, Helen Morris, 0412 210 761.
