As the voice of Australian medical research institutes, AAMRI’s mission is to support and champion the sector so they can do what they do best.

When medical research institutes are thriving, this means better access to treatments and therapies for patients, greater return on investment for the economy, a skilled workforce and a world-class medical research institute sector that will be ready to meet future health challenges.

As the peak body that represents the needs of the medical research institute sector to Government, industry and the public, we play a role in understanding the critical areas of focus faced by our institutes and advocating for change.

By informing and influencing government policy and budget decisions, we want to see strategic and sustainable investment in all stages of medical research, along with a workforce that is diverse and inclusive.
