AAMRI WA: WA State Election Statement 2025
AAMRI WA has called on all political parties to commit to securing a healthy and prosperous future for Western Australia through bold investment in health and medical research.
The 2025 Election presents an enormous opportunity to build the capacity of the State’s health and medical research sector to deliver transformative health benefits to the community, a strong and diversified State economy and a sustainable efficient health system.
AAMRI WA has identified three key priorities to action:
- Priority 1: Establish a Perth Biomedical Precinct to create a globally competitive centre for biomedical excellence.
- Priority 2: Secure WA’s future health and medical research workforce through the development of a workforce strategy and increased support for Early and Mid-career Researchers.
- Priority 3: Deliver cutting-edge infrastructure technology and platforms, including a statewide Biobanking Model and expansion of clinical trial capabilities, to improve the impact of health and medical research in WA.
