NSW Project: Commercialisation

Answer the question ‘How to improve the commercialisation of health and medical research in NSW medical research institutes?’

Project Overview

NSW has a significant opportunity to improve the commercialisation of discoveries emerging from its world-renowned medical research institutes. Enhancing commercialisation efforts can stimulate economic growth, deliver a strong social return on investment, and reduce long-term health care costs.

To scale up commercialisation and the role of AAMRI NSW institutes within the broader health and medical research ecosystem, we must first understand how NSW institutes can improve their commercialisation impact.

This project aims to develop a discussion paper that articulates why NSW institutes trail in commercialisation. The following stage of the larger, ongoing project will use these insights as the basis of a collaborative strategy to address the opportunities.
